The HHS mandate issue remains contentious although the non-compromise compromise was rejected and a spokesman of the Administration announced that no further concessions would be considered.  More is surely to develop of this.  For the latest official word from our bishops, consult their website at www.usccb.org.

Little Rock Diocesan ethicist on bioethical issues wrote a very informative piece for the February 4 Arkansas Catholic. Consult it for more information.

Target Take Charge of Education Program

We receive money from Target REDcard holders who have designated BSS at their charity of choice.  If you shopat Target, please log on to Target.com or pick up a credit card (RED card) application at the store.  On the application, you can designate Blessed Sacrament School as your school.  We receive 1% of all purchases made on that card and it adds up!  We currently have 18 people with Target cards.  We received $649.79 in August, 2011 and have received at total of $2675.72 since we started the program.  Again, spread the word.  Once you sign up, just use your Target card to make purchases when you shop at the store.  I will keep you updated.
